Activity Test

OBJECTIVE

Verify the antifreeze activity of the purified LpAFP protein in the presence of a nucleating agent at different temperatures and concentrations, and compare it with other substances.

WHAT IS DONE TO ACHIEVE IT?

(1) A nucleating agent is placed in a glass tube.

(2) 5 mL of water or solutions under study are added to the tubes.

(3) The tubes are immersed in a recirculating water/ethanol bath at a certain temperature between 0 and -10 °C. After 30 minutes, the tubes are shaken vigorously and observe which tubes form ice.
